Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, a musician's daughter from Mexico was born into a music-loving family. The majority of her childhood was spent listening to classical music, old boleros, and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos. Also, she loves operas and any form dramatic performance. Ana began learning to play and sing at an early age alongside her mother. She was given more formal vocal training when she was 16 years old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. Her music training continued in the School of Music of Guadalajara University. Then, she enrolled in the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. As a student and young professional, she sang with many chamber groups and opera choruses throughout Guadalajara and Mexico City. In 2000 she moved back to in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007 she moved to her home in southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo of traditional Latin American music at private occasions. She has been involved with a number of local projects in both teaching and performer because of her enthusiasm for music and arts. Ana was a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor in The Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able be able to share her love for traditional Latin American music. She hopes this can inspire younger generations to continue the tradition.
